August 1977 - Saturday 27
239th Day - 126 Days to Come

Rcd. [received] the clipping from THE PATENT TRADER that Joe Pascal sent me.

Finished the new board for CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Made the rest of the pcs. [pieces] for TWISTS 'N' TURNS and then a 5x5 board, finishing after company came.

Visit from the Laurences. Played 4-hand CHARLIE AND -----. They felt that the play was O.K., but too complicated for 8-year olds.
Played TWISTS 'N' TURNS with Phil. Discovered at once that I didn't need a rule to limit the number of enemy sides on the bottom layer. also saw that two has to be the maximum number of tiles that can be played on a turn. It is very difficult to stop the opponent; possibly a 6x6 board would be better.
