30 THURSDAY - JANUARY 1975
30TH DAY - 335 DAYS TO COME
Call from Felicia. She rcd. a royalty report from Hallmark that seemed
to indicate that there were some small royalties due for
FITTING & PROPER, THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS, and CUBITS - but she
wasn't sure from the computer printout. Told her I'd check when
I got my copy.
A black inventor from Detroit, who Bob Gellman sent her,
will be there on 2/5 at 10:30 and she'd like me to see his stuff.
I said that he might object. She said that as far as she is
concerned I am part of the business and he has nothing to say
about it. I'll be there at 10.
I'll bring a finished model of JACK-POTS 6 so she can have
it on hand. Also I'll bring a model of PROFIT so she can
familiarize herself with it. Told her I've simplified and
speeded it. Also I'll bring the plastic cement to try and fix
the model of SPACE BOXES.
Mike McCarthy of P. has an appointment on 2/10. She asked if
P. had seen LOTTERY (THE WINNING TICKET). Yes, and she won't show it again. I suggested FOREIGN INTRIGUE and told her that Bill Dohrmann had once said that he'd like to see it if something they were considering didn't go thru.
She'll also show him JACK POT 6 since Ron Weingartner of E.S. Lowe hasn't set a date yet.
Since Kohner has been sold to Gabriel she wondered if there was
any point in contacting Harold Frankel about POP-SHAPE-AND SHATTER.
Why not?
I'll bring POWER PLAY back to her on 2/5 and will discuss it with
her then.
Another client brought her a simple word game, QUICKSAND,
which she enjoyed playing with him all afternoon. She'll show it to me.
She'd like me to get her the Kenner and the Fisher Price catalogs
at the Press Room, as well as the game companies.
Thinking that a card war game, similar to CONVOY BATTLE ACTION,
might be good for Bob Gellman - or possibly Aladdin. GAME.
Went over the material on THE ART OF GAMES and made a new
drawing of VASARELY, the proper size.
Darkaning the numbers, etc. on the PROFIT cards.
For partnership games in THE ART OF GAMES thinking about the following. Double the score of the leading partner - which encourages favoring the leading player. Or double the trailing player's score - which encourages keeping the scores equal.
