26 SATURDAY - JANUARY 1974
26TH DAY - 339 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a statement of my 1973 3M earnings - $14,535.53.
(checked out correctly.)
While looking at the PLAYTHINGS issue rcd. on 1/17 I noticed
items about NEW TOWN and ZZIZZ, a pencil and paper word
game with "a chess like character that should appeal to one
who reall wants a game that's a purely intellactual test." Later
sent Reader Service Card for it. Also, noticed UP 'N ON by
Munro and added that to the card.
Al Richter showed me a book CREATIVITY TRAINING by Werner
Kirst & Ulrich Dickmeyer (Peter J. Wyden, Inc./N.Y.). It has
some "games" in the broadest sense.
Played 4-hand THE BRAIN GAME. Adela won with Al very close
behind. It was more fun than I remembered.
Later thought of adding 27 more cards to make a total of
108. These would allow trading, both individual and for
all; auctioning; one time stops on another player taking a
particular company card; counteraction to the Genius; and
others. One of these is drawn at the end of each player's
turn. The trading coming from a double on the white dice
will be eliminated. In the end portion - after all of the
cards have been taken - only 2 dice should be thrown to get
the price for taking a card. With a throw of 2 thru 5
you pay and don't get the card. With 7 or 11 don't pay and get
the card. With other number pay and get the card. (This
averages out to $7,230 for a card.)
