30 FRIDAY * NOVEMBER 1973
ST. ANDREW, APOSTLE * 334TH DAY * 31 DAYS TO COME
Started working on new rules for 3D BOXES making use of the
colors. Came quite quickly. Tried several two-hand games with
BB. Then 3 and 4-hand by myself. Decided to change the name
to SPACE.
POST had an article "War Toys No Longer Just Kid Stuff". Mentions
MONOPOLY, PANZERBLITZ, DARK AGES, 1918, NORMANDY, MIDWAY,
LEE MOVES NORTH, WATERLOO, D-DAY, FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR,
GETTYSBURG, AFRIKA KORPS, LUFTWAFFE, BLITZKRIEG, TACTICS,
RICHTOFEN'S WAR, YEAR OF THE RAT, GRUNT, CHICAGO, CHICAGO,
THE FALL OF ROME, SINAI, S & T. (Filed in '73 Misc.)
Met Claude & Anne downtown. Gave Claude his ECLIPSE model
and a check for $54.63 for EXECUTIVE DECISION.
Claude saw a TV ad for a game being sold at Alexanders
for $6.00 (abt.). It is a word game called THINK TANK and the
name of the company seems to be "Horizon Toys" and "Wordorama".
(cont. for 12/1) [12/3]
Rcd. an X'mas card from Pam and Don Turnbull. No message.
Looked at LOTTO and found a note on its history in
THE YOUNG FOLKS' CYCLOPEDIA OF GAMES AND SPORTS. Looked at
"Encyclopedia Britanica" and they didn't have anything on the
history. In the old German catalog reproduction I bought
in 1971 - THE AMAZING CATALOG OF THE ESTEEMED FIRM OF GEORGE
HIERONIMUS BESTEMEIER (1793 and 1807) I found two LOTTO sets.
Phil Orbanes called before I returned home. He told BB to tell me
that he was sorry that he didn't get the chance to talk to me
more today and that I can call him at the office tomorrow if I
have any questions. There is no hurry on further p & p games
since he won't see Manny to give him the ones he has already
until the end of this week.
Call from Claude. Anne found a Macy's ad in Sunday's NEWS.
It had ACQUIRE and THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS. Claude is not sure
about FITTING & PROPER. He has it for me.
[Arrow pointing up and down] [Started 12/3]
In connection with M.B.'s KING OIL I mentioned GUSHER.
Mickie wanted to know about the company and date. Told her
I'd tell her when she calls tomorrow.
Played 500 RUMMY with dad and Ilka.
