200th Day - 165 Days to Come

Rcd. [received] a letter from Dollar Savings Bank saying that the $100 check from THE INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW was returned for "insufficient funds." Wrote to Larry Blandin about it.
Rcd. a "thank you" card from Wald and Ann. (Discarded.)
Rcd. an announcement (to S. Sackson P.E.) saying that the corporate headquarters of Marx Inc. (a subsidiary of Quaker Oats) have been moved to their own building in Standford, Conn. [Connecticut] (Discarded.)
Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim. Mentioned STACK-UP, DAFT DRAUGHTS, G&P, S&T, SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, UP, CHINESE MATCHING CARDS, BITSBITSBITS, SIM, LAS VEGAS POKER.

Called Mr. Shapiro of Book Sales. He said he had rcd. Graeme Levin's letter and had answered it. For reference he told me that the retail price of AGOG is $2.98 and that there is a reduction of 46% for a substantial amount (several thousand - I believe).

Wrote to Tom Atwater asking about HIT THE JACKPOT.

Looking at G&P #16 (that I borrowed yesterday). Had articles on THE SIGMA FILE; NOVA; HEX; THE PHILOSPHERS GAME (RITHMIMACHIA); ARITHMETICAL CHESS; C&O/B&O; KLIK; THE GAME OF NATIONS; CHAOS; GAMES WITH PENCIL & PAPER - which includes, among others, BOXES, BATTLESHIPS, GO-MOKU, ELEUSIS, SPROUTS, SUBTERFUGE, THINK A LETTER, PENTOMINOES. Letters to editor - letter from John Boardman mentioning MAH JONG and SCIENCE AND CIVILIZATION IN CHINA; readers asking about games they remember - CONFRONT, MILITAIRE, and an unnamed GAME. Ads for TOURNAMENT GOLF, JACKPOT, MONEY GO ROUND, MASTER MIND.

Called Felicia. Not in and left message for her to call me.

In Plastic catalog saw that 1/2" balls are 5¢ each, down to 2¢ each for 1000 or more. Called Steve Saxe about the GAME we discussed yesterday. (I'll call it LOUVER as a working title.) He'll check on the availability and price of glass balls.

Called Claude. We'll go to Philadelphia next Friday unless Claude has to work overtime Thursday night. He mentioned a book YOU CAN THINK BETTER THAN YOU THINK YOU CAN which says it has a lot of games, but they are probably puzzles.

BB suggested changing the house around again. Discussed it and finally decided on her and I sharing the upstairs living room while Dana takes both walls of Dale's room, except for the 6 boxes I have there. Put a lot of the duplicate games, both mine and others, in 4 of those boxes.
