To R.G.I. Spoke to Bob Gellman. He gave me a copy of their contract form - actually the old one before Bob Schneider's death - to show to Felicia to see if it is O.K. with us. Also took a copy of the material on the back of the box of PATTON.
Bob asked me if I had any card GAMEs for their $3 line. He doesn't want any abstract games, only those with a theme. A stock market game (PROFIT) is O.K., except that he said there should be up to 35 cards in color or 70 (I believe) in black and white. The
Then he asked if I could come up with a game just using the HOLIDAY cards. So far he has rcd. [received] orders for only 800 copies (against 5000 for PATTON). He intends to print 5000 HOLIDAY, but is not sure if he can sell them.
He had a letter from Gini Scott asking for review copies of PATTON and HOLIDAY for her column in SIMULATION/GAMING/NEWS. He'll send them as soon as they are ready.
There was a fellow there who had shown a game called WORD-A-BILITY. He developed this while working for the outfit that put out ROAD-A-BILITY (see 3/4/69). I [illegible word crossed out] gathered that they are pretty much out of business and that this fellow was allowed to market the game on his own.
He told me that he also has a GAME system to play a lot of different sports games using flicked checked.
Bob was going to send him to Felicia and asked me if there was any other agents I could recommend. No. Bob said he'd probably be coming out with a gambling GAME.
Stopped at Felicia's. Not in.

To "Gamut of Games." Phil told me that BACKGAMMON at present is amounting to 60% of their business. They expect to sell about 15,000 each of CAR-TEL (which is currently doing the best of the 4 new games), REALM, MONTAGE, and INFINITY (which was not included in the stuffer prepared by Reiss.
Hoi Polloi will not be putting out any board games; instead will get them all from "Gamut." They have a very generous bonus system for selling a certain amount of each title.
Played the following games:
-POWER NETWORK. Played twice. Phil suggested an optional rule that a player can choose a "secret space" and does not have to divulge information on that space. Didn't try it.
To make guessing dangerous I thought of giving a player 1 point (or a single win) for getting the opponent's layout. If a player gets an incorrect layout the opponent score 2 points (double win). It is possible to score both ways for 3 points (triple win).
Tried to come up with a catchy name - best so far WIRETAP.
-PAYOFF (Phil's). The board consists of 36 spaces, set in a 6x6 layout and numbered 11, 12... 66. Players in turn throw three dice - 2 white and one red. They combine
