Orangemen's Day - 193rd Day - 172 Days to Come
Rcd. [received] a card from Jim Scully. He is back working for
the monastery and his new address is:
{Jim Scully [address]
Call from Felicia. She wants to get tough with the companies, particularly Hallmark. Her other inventors agree. I said that I agreed in principle but said let's talk about it further when we get together next Wednesday.
Filled in the numbers on the LAPS and LANDGRAB diagrams.
To Boston Post Road and got 7 copies of POWER NETWORK and
5 each of 11 RACES/LANDGRAB and LAPS/SUPERGHOSTS.
Played LAPS by myself and it didn't work out too well.
Called Tom Atwater. Got his son (I believe). Left message that I was concerned whether Tom had rcd. HIT THE JACKPOT.
In morning thinking that the people who put out THE WATERGATE SCANDAL might be interested in OPTION CHESS.
(cont. from 7/13) [7/18]
-LANDGRAB. Played until I had sewed up. He liked. He took
the two sets of "bid cards."
-LAPS. I told him that I wasn't satisfied with this, but
after we played a little he said he liked it. Possible name -
THE GREAT RACE.
-TRIVIA (Phil's). The same as CATEGORIES except that there
is a bonus for getting a line of 5, horizontally or
vertically. (I asked Phil to please not make it anything
like 3M's FACT IN FIVE. He says that this bonus rule
is one that is used in a lot of TV shows.)
Phil gave me a clipping from NEWSWEEK where Gini Scott is
mentioned as a swinging single. Her games LIB and
CONFRONTATION are mentioned.
He sent her copies of CAR-TEL, MONTAGE, REALM, and
INFINITY for review in her column.
He just rcd. his copy of G&P #16 (and I still haven't rcd. #15).
It has a feature on THE SIGMA FILE and I borrow it.
We took a lunch break and at an expensive restaurant -
on "Gamut of Games." (At least I hope so.)
Took two copies each of CAR-TEL and REALM and one each of
MONTAGE and INFINITY.
We figured that with the projected sales of the A&P games we'll each get about $9,000.
While walking on Madison Ave saw an still another game
