15 Friday - June 1973
166th Day - 199 Days to Come
Called Bob Abbott. He inherited enough money from his mother to get $6,000 a year, so he quit his job to work on games again. He has an improvement of CROSSINGS which he'd like to show me. Told him to call me after July 4th about setting up a date. In the meantime he'll send me a copy of the rules.
WroteDrew up the solutions of the 12 HONORABLE RELATIONS puzzles and sent
them to Burt Huber with a note. Also mentioned THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS.
Called George Delaney just after 5. After waiting a few minutes,
the secretary said he'd call me back. Did and we discussed
3D BOXES. He said he did play the "advanced" rules with the force
at a 3-road corner and it didn't come to a head until the end. I
told him that I had some further rules but I was afraid
of making it too complicated for kids. He said not to worry about
that since they are aiming at 9 years and up.
It is just about impossible to have it ready for 1974, so I'll work
on it for a few weeks when we get back and then we'll get it
back to him.
He doesn't see any difficulties in making it. In fact he has
worked out a way of removing a vertical that is put in by
error.
Called Felicia and told her about the conversation.
Catching up on game diary.

show.
Upstairs with Larry Blandin and he gave me a check for
$100. I originally said to give me half of the air fare -
about $65 - as we first talked about, but he said that
wasn't enough.
A reporter for PLAYTHINGS joined us (he had taken
pictures during my seminar) and interviewed me. He
wanted tapes of the seminars from Larry but Larry
wants to keep them secret and publish them as a book
next year. He also prefers to keep the manufacturer
and public parts of the show separate in the publicity.
I exchanged cards with William L. Murray, the reporter.
Rcd. [received] a letter from Lee Elmendorf on STARLORD.
