and two set ups for <u>FITTING & PROPER</u>. Mentioned <u>HONORABLE RELATIONS</u>.
Started a letter to <u>Bob Johnson</u> on <u>HONORABLE RELATIONS</u>.
 
Tried a game of <u>HONORABLE RELATIONS</u> with Dale. Start<s>ing</s>
with a random placement of pieces according to one of
the puzzle sheets (the area used that is). Players in
turn switch two adjacent tiles, or in a straight line if
there are turned - over tiles between, and then choose one
to turn over. Score according to the adjacent tiles, including
those turned over. Score most for [arrow pointing both left and right] and score minus for
II. First switch must include the tile in a pre-determined corner.
After this the tile not turned over in a turn must be used
in the next switch. (It was dull and tedious.)
<br>Tried some variations by myself but couldn't get anything
worthwhile.
 
Another call from <u>Felicia</u>. Letter from Schaper, signed by someone
other than <u>Bill Garrity</u>, saying that they were returning
<u>FREE FORM</u>, <u>PUSHOVER</u>, and <u>PAIR OFF</u>. They like the games but
think that there are too many strategy games on the market.
Rappaports says that <s>the</s> sales of games is the worst ever.
 
Call from <u>Barney Rich</u>. He had thought of using his game
<u>DOZEN DIAMONDS</u> for all different types of mathematical
operations, as a teaching device. He wanted my advice
on marketing it. I told him that since he had an in
with textbook publishers, that was his best avenue for
having it published.
<br>He learned (how?) about <u>AGOG</u> and wants a copy. Told him
that Metropolitan Bookstore had it for $2.25.
 
Called <u>Tom Atwater</u> after 11 (and woke him). Told him about
how good <u>HIT THE JACKPOT</u> is and when is the latest I can
get it to him. Arranged that I would mail the package
Wednesday and then get the rules to him as soon as
possible. (When discussing the possibility of sending
the package first class he offered to <s>get the</s> buy the
chips, but I didn't want him spending the money. We
dropped the idea of first class.
