18 Sunday - February 1973
Seventh Sunday after Epiphany - 49th Day - 316 Days to Come
Call from Gini Scott. Made date to meet her on 2/26 at
6:15 at the Statler Hilton Hotel and have supper together.
Her SCREWBALL has sold over 150,000, but this is the only thing
that is doing well. Her social games have bombed. I asked
her if she was involved with the "Lucky 13 Puzzle Games." No.
She now has one page of SIMULATION/GAMING/NEWS to herself.
She intends to do game reviews of non-simulation as well as
simulation games and wanted to know how to get review copies.
I told her to contact the P.R. people.
She has instigated a class-action suit against Bill Knox
of Mag-Nif. She has four others already who have had trouble
with him. I told her that I'd check with my partner (Phil
Orbanes) on the puzzle-games he has of mine, and I'd see
if he has come out with GROOVE. We'll talk about it again
when we meet next week.
Finished the packaging of THE BRAIN GAME.
Played THE BRAIN GAME with the Laurences. We didn't use the
dice buying at the end but it was good having it as a "threat"
to force trading. BB and Annette felt that the company cards
were too dark, and I agreed.
Played a little of PUSHOVER and Annette was particularly impressed
with my versitility.
During day repackaged PAIR OFF.
Gini Scott said that she had rcd. [received] G&P with my article on ACQUIRE.

Mickie has a copy of Marvin Kaye's A TOY IS BORN. I'll meet her
tomorrow at her office, in the Lowe showroom, to look at the book
and she'll take me to lunch. Told her about Roger Verhulst's complaint
about gett not getting M.B. things. I'll bring his address tomorrow.
To Press Room and took the following material: -
