To 3M room
To 3M room and while waiting for Keith on the phone took  <br>
two copies of the catalog (which I later discovered was the  <br>
same as last year's).
Upstairs to <u>Keith</u>. Showed him <u>HABITAT</u>. He thought  <br>
it was attractive, but wondered if more than one solution might  <br>
be preferable. They have three solutions for <u>HECTIX</u>. He  <br>
took it with him.  <br>
Played part of a game of <u>THE BRAIN GAME</u> and he liked it  <br>
a lot. Took the box and I'll send the rules. (Signed a  <br>
disclosure form for the two of them.)  <br>
They are going to put <u>GO</u> in a "classic" bookshelf and I  <br>
believe <u>BACKGAMMON</u> too. He asked my opinion of games  <br>
that they could put up in "do-it-yourself" form. They  <br>
thought of <u>CHESS</u> and I added <u>BACKGAMMON</u>, but there  <br>
probably aren't any others that people would bother with. I told  <br>
him about the flop of <u>GAME INVENTOR' S KIT</u>.  <br>
They are thinking of a line of p & p games - a shrink wrapped  <br>
pad - to sell under $1. They wondered if the games in ''<u>AGOG</u>''  <br>
were in public domain. I told him they are now mine <s>but</s>  <br>
and are covered by copyright. They would rather not pay  <br>
royalties but will if they have to. I told him that I had  <br>
worked on p & p. games for another (unnamed) company and  <br>
that I had a contractual prohibition from sellig p & p  <br>
games to other companies. I couldn't do anything for 3M under  <br>
my own name. I told him about my small-equipment games,  <br>
such as <u>TAKE-A-WORD</u> and <u>SUPER-TAC-TOE</u>. Made a date for  <br>
8:15 for breakfast on Wednesday to talk about it more.  <br>
Keith said that they keep hearing rumors about Hallmark and  <br>
asked if I had anything with them and are they coming out?  <br>
I said that I had two which are supposed to for stationery  <br>
show but I've been disappointed before.
