18 Thursday - January 1973
18th Day - 347 Days to Come

Rcd. [received] a short letter from Graeme Levin. ACQUIRE will be in issue #11 of G&P.
Rcd. a letter from N.Y. State Tax Comm. [commission] asking about outcome of Federal refund. Called Leonard Willett and he already sent them all the info.

Made a rough model of my new HABITAT layout. It is easier to solve and doesn't look bad.

Called Claude. Told him again about the demand for 2-hand strategy games by Hallmark. He was thinking of working on his CROOKED BRIDGE (see '63).
He told me (not today but some time ago) that he had an idea for making LOA more novel. The 4 center spaces have holes and a piece landing there is out of the game. I felt that it would make the game pretty much a question of landing there to get rid of pcs. [pieces]
I mentioned that I might do something with THRUST (see 3/15/66), which I thought of prior to Claude's LOA.

Called Kathy Brooks, after going over the EXECUTIVE DECISION rules and finding a few suggested corrections. Told her about them and she agreed with me.
I asked her about PROFIT. Around next May they will start evaluating their next moves and PROFIT will be reconsidered then. All evening and till late on a new HABITAT layout with 3 different pcs.

Anatole mentioned the letter he had rcd. from Felicia concerning reselling his game MEM. She asked for a $100 consultation free for getting together with her and me. I told him that that was her policy. He'd like to get together sometime when either of us travel to the others neck of the woods, and discuss games on a non-business basis. Told him I'd be pleased to, but we didn't make any definite arrangement.
