Baptism of the Lord - 7th Day - 358 Days to Come

Got an idea for eliminating the board in THE BRAIN GAME. Made a series of 9 colored trays to hold the cards. Numbered them from 1 to 9. The player in his turn can pick either white die or the sum of the two. A double on the white die allows a trade of any numbered card (not black) of the same color, [illegible crossed out] or two colored cards for one. A triple allows a one for one trade between different colors (still not black).
Played with the Saperstiens and I thought it worked very well. (Harold missed a board as a focus for the attention.) Phyllis and I came out in an exact tie for first.
Harold is very interested in military history. Some time ago I gave him a copy of S&T with BASTOGNE (#20). He found it difficult to understand. I gave him a copy of NAPOLEON AT WATERLOO and then copies of S&T #32, 33, 34, and 35.

drop one and get 12 along each side of the remaining 4, in a different orientation. Then the same with 3 dice. (Rough idea.) (Felicia wasn't interested.)
Saw a game L'ANNEAU ENCHANTE DE TOM TIT with two subgames - LE BLOCUS (not the same BLOCUS I saw in 1971) and LA BOMBARDE. Told Felicia that it might be good as a strategy game - which x wants.
Took the rules of [illegible crossed out] L'ANNEAU ENCHANTE DE TOM TIT and LE JEU DE 420 for further study (and got reproductions at simulations)
After Oddette left talked to Felicia awhile. Today she called Dynamic Design. They are just beginning to look at FREE FORM, FOREIGN INTRIGUE, etc. (see 12/7/72). She also called Bob Johnson. The contract for FOCUS is in legal now and they are tied up with a number of problems (not on FOCUS) but we should be getting the advance any day now. They are still interested in looking at 2-hand strategy games. 3M is interested in puzzles.
