Veterans' Day 315th day - 50 days to come

Decided that the S & T column was too long and removed THE BLACKS & WHITES GAME and trimmed some of the others.
Called Jim Dunnigan at "Hecht & Vidmer." Asked if BB could bring the column there on Friday. OK.

Read the rules for CARAPACE.

Started the BOOK WORLD. Wrote an introduction (which I later replaced) and a shorted review of THE CITIES GAME, SMOG, EXTINCTION, and part of VENTURE.

Felicia asked if I had rcd. my cut for the INDIAN CHESS contract. I haven't. She hasn't rcd. the contract back as yet either. She will try again to get in touch with him, since he is a great pro-
crastinator.
He has another GAME which he wants to show to me in person and have me write up the rules for 25%.

BB and I played a round of BYZANTIUM. It wasn't too hard to judge the results and it was rather pleasant. BB would like to use more than 3 different shapes.

Orbanes and Phil said by all means to have Pete go speak to Bob. Bob has about 100 items and would like to increase to 500. If someone brings him something he likes he will send them to a manufac-
turer if that is what they want. Pete should mention Phil's name and mine.
Phil told me that he has sent a contract between Bob Hallowell and "Infinity-Quest", also owe between "Infinity-Quest" and me to Cleveland to be signed. It will take a little time. (9 [NINE] OF SWORDS.)

Called Michael Dummett and got him in. Told him that I couldn't get the material reproduced that he wants before he come on the weekend of 11/22. He will come on Dec. 4 and stay for the 5th. Will call me with the time. (cont. on 11/10)
