16 Tuesday - December 1975
350th Day - 15 Days to come
Rcd. the introduction to DIABOLIC SQUARES from Claude. Put it together
with the other material to bring tomorrow.
Rcd. X'Mas card from Felicia with short note.
From Random House rcd. a repro of TIMES review of BEYOND TIC TAC TOE,
with a note signed by "Rochelle Henderson - Dep't of Library Services."
Made a diagram for CARROLL and for NO WAY, each on half of a sheet.
On another sheet drew up ALONE TOGETHER and FOUR COLOR. At Boston Post
Rd. got 4 each of these two sheets and also 4 repros of PINBALL.
For "Word Games" book have these: JOYCE, DICKENS, O. HENRY, POE,
CARROLL. For "Solitaire Games" book have these: NO WAY, PINBALL,
ALONE TOGETHER, FOUR COLOR.
Made a new new sketch for the VASARELY diagram.
BB tried FOUR COLOR and NO WAY in the evening. She said they were O.K.
On "All Things Considered" there was a short segment with one of the
principles of "The Game Designer's Workshop." Nothing of partic-
ular importance.
Annette Laurence asked me to appear at her - or rather Jill's -
Brownie meeting on 1/10/76. I am a "celebrity" because of my DAISY
article.
(cont. from 12/17) [12/17]
"Misc. wargaming folder.)
Ran off four copies of my DAISY article. (Filed in I.S. folder.)
Looked at "Pushcart - Job Lot." Nothing. At store with "Lego Blocks"
they had only a limited number left. Asked and they said that
that was the end. Bought 6 packages, but later found that five
of them consisted almost entirely of only 2 sizes of yellow
bricks.
On way downtown stopped on Canal St. to buy an 1976 game diary.
$2.25. Their new method of gluing the pages instead of stitching
them is a pain.
Rcd. 1 deck of O-SHLEMIEL! cards, with the rules booklet.
Thought of an idea for INVESTMENT - to make it visually attractive.
Have 4 instead of 6 companies and have the market value indicated
by a graph. Buying a share of stock can be indicated by placing a
mark on the graph - with an additional mark when it is sold. Stocks
should tend to go in the direction they are going until a number
drawn indicates a change. This should happen about 1 in 3 or 1 in 4.
(To be worked out.)
When I spoke to Richard Berg I offered to let him reproduce my copy of
THE COLLECTOR'S CATALOG AND PRICE GUIDE TO WARGAMES. He reminded me
that he had given, probably, the bulk of the info to Cooper.
