<br>Ronnie brought the January <u>PLAYBOY</u> Mag. [magazine] It has a game
<u>HOLLYWOOD HUSTLE</u>. Phil F. says he can get it for me half price
in a month or so. | |||
<br>Don't remember how it came up, but Ronnie has the game
<u>CONESTOGA</u>. I have notes on it, but not the game.
Ronnie, Audrey, Jordan, and I played a revised version of his
<u>CROSS PURPOSES</u> (see 10/29 - and the idea of 11/25 has been
discarded). There is a deck of cards as follows: 8 each of 1, 2, 3, 4,
and 5 - 4 of 6 - 3 of 7 - 1 Joker (48 total). Each player plays with
a hand of 3 cards, replacing one after he plays. A Joker
can be use to move any distance.
<br>An area of 5x5 is enclosed in the center of the board. If
a player moves off the board and the previous player places
the marker on one of his own 10 point tiles, the player
who went off the board can, after paying, move the marker
to one of his own 10 point tiles in the center area - if he
wishes. (I suggested allowing this privilege any time a
player lands the marker on an opponent's 10 point tile.
<br>Players are not allowed to pay in opponent's tiles - only their
own. 25 points in opponents' tiles wins. If a player has to
make a move that allows a choice of two of more opponents to
win, he must move the shorter distance allowed by his cards.
(At 25 points, we all felt that the game should continue, probably
to 50 points. Ronnie said that he played partnership and
50 was correct for <s>that</s> the combined score. I pointed out
that in partnership there would be a lot more landing on
safe tiles.) | |||
<br>Ronnie was gratified that one lunchtime when he wasn't
at work, they chose to play <u>CROSS PURPOSES</u>.
<br>Ronnie showed me his <s>play</s> change of <u>WORD ROUND-UP</u> onto a board.
The board is 10x10 and is filled from 144 (I believe) letter
tiles. Each player has a scoring board which has room for
9 words (see folder - this date). The upper number is the score
for completing a word. The lower number is the minus score,
per letter, for not completing a word. (For rules see folder - 10/1/77.)
<br>Ronnie is working on putting <u>CORNER THE MARKET</u> on a board.
Told Ronnie that I would like to play <u>FOCUS</u>. He and Jordan played
a couple of games this morning, and he found that the end
