22 SUNDAY - DECEMBER 1974
FOURTH SUNDAY IN ADVENT - FIRST DAY OF WINTER - 356TH DAY - 9 DAYS TO COME
At bazaar in Kew Gardens bought a "carry on" case for $10.50,
similar to the one I bought for $7 at the thrift shop, pos but
I think a little bigger in the main compartment. Possibly I'll give one
to Claude.
Cut out heavy cardboard cards for THE MEMORY GAME and BB started putting drawings directly on them.
BB typed the letter on SPY and I drew in the illustrations. Also put the illustrations on another sheet to [illegible strikeout] bring to "Gamut of Games."
(cont. from 12/23) [12/23]
seems to have a lot to say, and he may be holding it up.
Tom said something about my being "sly" about the Aladdin
contract and I told him, truthfully, that I didn't know
what he meant. He said that the Aladdin contract was
taken directly from the Hallmark contract and I said that
maybe he had a better contract than we did had.
He finally has a game at Aladdin. It is a card game by Oswald Lord. I asked if it was HO-VE-DI. Yed.
S&R showed at Stationary Show last year for the first time and were surprised at how well they did. They are now interested, he said, in broadening their line and will be looking at things.
Dennison's, who are located somewhere near Tom, are considering going into games by buying the Skor-Mor line. If they do they will be needing more games, since Skor- Mor is mainly puzzles. Tom showed them a lot of things, including TRANSFORMATION, to show them that he could supply them with good material once they get going.
Told Tom me idea of METAMORPHESIS as a new name for TRANSFORMATION. He liked it.
Tom has one item that was supposed to be definite with Parker, but they keep holding up on the final signing.
I mentioned the "Two Game Girls" HANNIBAL and we both agreed that it wasn't much.
I told him what Felicia had said about Parker immediately
assuming that my games are too egghead. Also Because of
this a pseudonym might be better for dealing with P. He
agreed.
He has good connections with German Parker and that might help in having games started there and then taken to the U.S. [illegible strikeout]
Call from Bob Champer to postpone our date for tonight until Thursday.
Wanted to call Jerry D'Arcey but checked his number with information first. He is not listed in that area code.
