25 FRIDAY - OCTOBER 1974 298TH DAY - 67 DAYS TO COME

When I gave the magazine with TANK! to Pierre I noticed that the expansion counters were missing. Checked and saw that none of the expansion rules I took had the counters, will have to get them.

Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #174. Phil Cohen mentions NULL, NULL CHESS, and gives rules for ZOMBIE CHESS and REINCARNATION CHESS. Also mentions a change in the TEEKO rules, in accordance with the latest Scarne rules. Betza mentions CCC TRANSCHESS and ALICE CHESS. Also NEW ENGLAND DOUBLE BUGHOUSE CHESS, a sort of CHESSGI with two-man teams.

At Pathmark bought 13 more packages of 5x3 linded lined index cards - all they had left.

Call from Phyllis Melhade. Audrey Pierce would like to talk to me about a few things, but she won't be there next Monday afternoon. And Phyllis won't be there in the morning. Finally arranged that I would see Audrey about 11:15 A.M. and then see Phyllis in the afternoon.

Call from Felicia. Since next Mony is a federal holiday she wanted to change our date. But since I will be downtown anyway she will meet me at 10:30.

Played RED LETTER with the Horn's, using changes of 4/20/73. It becomes a very tight game so it is necessary to have each player have the same number of turns.

Played two games with BB at home. In the 2nd BB ended the game by getting two 40 point letters but I nosed her out.

In all the games tonight, most of the bonus words were formed with "ING." Thinking of adding an optional rule that "ING" counts as only 1 letter, but later decided to get rid of some of the letter squares with "ING."

row for a meeting with Doubleday - to sign a contract. He wants me to meet them. A little reluctantly I agreed to come down. He'll call tomorrow with the time - and the place (on 12th Ave.)

Thinking of RED LETTER, and a solitaire can be easily played. Take 10 (or possibly 12 might be better) and see how many points can be scored. [Started 10/28]
