Letter from Graeme Levin with mentions of PLOY,
SLEUTH, AGOG, VENTURE, KGB, FACTS IN FIVE, MONTAGE,
LNFINITY, BILLIONAIRE, GRAPPLE, FLUSTER, BOGGLE, THE SIGMA FILE, and ESCAPE FROM COLDITZ.

Rcd. a call from Cathy Greenblat, who is a professor
of some sort (I believe) in Rutgers. She is setting
up a meeting of THE NATIONAL GAMING COUNCIL, which is a
loosly knit organization of people interested in Simulation
Gaming. She is setting up a symposium on "game resources"
and would like me to join it as an expert on commercial games
(she heard of me thro Gini Scott). At first I thought it would
be held at Rutgers but it is going to be near Washington. It starts
on 9/17 and the symposium she'd like me to attend is on 9/18
in the morning. There is no money to cover my expenses.
THe best she can do is exempt me from the $30
registration fee. Told her that I probably won't be able to expend
either the time or the money. She'll send me a mailing giving
info on the conference and will call me next week for my answer.
She thinks that I'd find many of the people very creative.
She told me about a book of hers with the same colaborators that
will be published by Random House, abt. Nov. 1, called
THE MARRIAGE GAME. She will put me on the mailing list for
a complimentary copy. (She said this before I said that I
probably wouldn't make the meeting.)
Told her about my game collection and invited her to visit. She
said not to invite her unless I meant it, since she accepts
there kinds of invites.

Call from Wald. He is going to California on a visit and
can't make the NYGA meeting. Wants to be invited to the
next one.

Went over the games to be covered in the short reviews
in S & T #41. Prepered index cards with the info on price,
address, and inventor. Also info on which letters I have to
ask of the companies.

Dave Horn here. Tried THE 31ST HEX and couldn't solve it - but
liked it.

Played a little of THE 31ST HEX - my new rules - first with myself and then with BB. Seems O.K.
