8 WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 1973
220TH DAY - 145 DAYS TO COME

Two calls from Vivianne Meyers. She is having her
lawyer draw up a contract on LOUVER (altho she
doesn't use that name). She checked on marbles and found
that she can get [?]16⌀ for $3.65 (I believe) a thousand.
The fellow she spoke to said that 2⌀ isn't made anymore.
She'll check some more.

Got a little mixed up on the royalties for the package of
5 p & p games and called Phil Orbanes to get it cleared up.
He told me, confidentially, that Reiss had been trying to
buy out Mag-Nif, mainly to put someone else in control
instead of Bill Knox. Instead Bill Knox bought out Skor-Mor
whose line of wooden items is in direct competition with Hoi
Polloi. That is why Carl is looking for plastic items. They
will finish out this year together but next year they will
split up.
Among the Mag-Nif "Mental Hang Ups" series the best selling
were OUTER LIMITS and DROP OUT. THE GREAT ESCAPE and
DOUBLE CROSS were the worst. PLATO'S PLIGHT sells about 100,000
a year.
Among the p. & p. games WORDPLAY, VEGAS 13, and NINE TAC TOE
are selling best. CHINESECHEK and DAM IT! are doing less
well. Phil thinks it is because the latter two have a
less interesting board.

Bought wood, brackets, and screws for a shelf for the
south wall of the game room. Put up the brackets and painted
the shelf.

Call from Claude at night, short because I was looking at
a movie. Told him that I had TEN-Q already and would
give him the copy I took Monday. Said I'd call tomorrow
at 3.
