20 SUNDAY - AUGUST 1972
TWELFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY - 233RD DAY - 133 DAYS TO COME

Played GRASS ROOTS by myself. Realized that I needed a
score sheet. Drew one up. and Also darkened in some of
the squares in the diagram. [Illegible crossed out]

Thought of a possible idea for Claude's auction GAME. A player
can buy the right to have an item auctioned ahead of its
turn. later Told it to Claude in a later call. He doesn't think
it needs any further complications.

Call from Phil Orbanes. He has PEACE pretty well finished. I
told him that id Hoi Polloi wants first refusal rights on games
p. & p. games from us, we should get a guarantee of a certain
performance. He agreed.

Played FREEWORD with BB. She liked it, but thinks the scoring
is too complicated.

Thought of adding cards to the game WAR AND PEACE, one
"War" deck and one "Peace" deck.

More working on game diary.

There will be a meeting with Post, Gray, and Herb on
Thursday. He asked me if I could make it, which I couldn't.
He'll get as much info as he can and phone me about it.
I brought the 6 games (XANDO, etc.). He reproduced them.
On the way to Reiss' stopped at Brentanos. Saw Dorothy Shapiro, and
asked her why no ACQUIRE. It's on order.
She said that she was mad at Alex Cockburn. He borrowed a copy
of S & T from her and never returned it. I told her that as soon
as I get a little free time I'll bring her some.
Looked at the game

or "Caress any player for one minute", etc.
Dorothy said it sold well but she won't restock it. She's
afraid of repercussions.

To Reiss' a little late. Phil Orbanes, Manny Lefkowitz, Carl Eisenberg,
and Bob Reiss there. Went over the 11 games
Went thru the 11 games. Bob and Carl were rather nasty,
Manny to the contrary was quite pleasant.
