9 WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 1972
222ND DAY - 144 DAYS TO COME

Finished the rules for FIGHT CITY HALL.
Working on CASINO ROYALE. Decided to include ROULETTE,
CRAPS, PUT AND TAKE (See THE COMPLETE BOOK OF GAMES, pg. 316),
CHUCK-A-LUCK, & POKER. Made a board showing 6 rooms for
the various games. All except POKER are to have a "Bank" which
is kept in the room. The board also has room for a "pool". Made
a set of cards giving opportunities to cheat in various games, to catch
others cheating, blackmail, etc. Took a CRAPS and ROULETTE
layout from WHEEL 'N DEAL. Made two dice with the 6 different
games on the faces. To be thrown in turn - and player can
decide the game everyone plays. At each turn players can buy
1 (for $5), 2 (for $15), or 3 (for $25) cards. Money goes into the
pool. Also when POKER is played 10% of the pot goes into the pool.
Made triangular cardboard stands to indicate the owner and
amounts of the various "Banks". Made most of a CHUCK-A-LUCK
layout but had to quit at 2 a.m. Incidentally, a player
who breaks a "bank", wins the chips in the pool. (Rough idea
of the play of the game.)

Felicia called. BB will go to pick up the contracts tomorrow.
Felicia also wants her to pick up the rules for SIJJEH so that
she I can look at it and give her an opinion.

Rcd. a letter from Mike Abrams on BLOCK 'N SCORE.

Arthur called. Wexler wanted my name and address to include
on a contract.

record is kept as to each player's results on all issues
he has come up against. Each issue is represented twice
in the deck. If a player draws the 2nd one, his previous
decision stands; except that there is a way for a player
to but a second chance from a wrong decision (don't remember
details). About 2/3 along the track, 3 spaces are a
"Crisis" (don't remember what happens when you land) and
after that point is passed a player must use "The
Issues". A player may be forced out of the race if sent
back passed the beginning. (Fairly complete idea.)
I didn't care much for the game. Wexler didn't comment
one way or the other.
I described my GAME OF NATIONS and Wexler would like to see
it. He'll call it WAR AND PEACE.
It looks almost definite that Wexler will be including
BALANCE OF POWER (COUNTERBALANCE) in the line. He is not
crazy about the play of the game, but likes its look.
He, Wexler, is going on a two-week vacation. Our next meeting
will be on the week of 8/28.
