Worked out a layout for <u>THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS</u> with each color
different in solution. It came quite easily.
Had an idea for a <u>GAME</u> using 27 square pcs., each
one have three concentric circles, using all combinations
of three different colors. 2 play. Each get 13 pcs.
and one is turned as a started. Players in turn place a
piece which matches one or more circles in color on the
last piece played. For matching 2 the player takes 1 chip.
For matching three the player takes 3 chips. The player
who is able to play last scores the number of chips he col-
lected.
Another possibility is to arrange each players pcs. so that
only some are available at a turn and others become a-
vailable as play progresses.
A fellow from "International Reports" on our floor art at the office
gave me two clippings:- "Adult Games Boost Sales," from
Asbury Park Sunday Press - Nov. 9, 1969. "Toy Inventing Needs lots
of Toy Know-how," from <u>''GAMES & TOYS''</u>, May 1967.
In Times saw that <u>''SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN''</u> has a circulation
of 400,000.
Reading <u>HISTORY OF BOARD GAMES</u> on subway.
<u>''BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS''</u> (Dec.) had listing of games, with pic-
tures. <u>WIN, PLACE & SHOW</u>, <u>FINDER'S KEEPERS</u>, <u>FUNNY BONES</u>, <u>SOMA</u>,
<u>FEUDAL</u>, <u>MORRA-BOARD</u>, <u>BUCKET OF FUN</u>.
Nov. <u>''TOYS & NOVELTIES''</u> came. <u>VECTOR</u> was listed in new
products.
The Nov. 1969 <u>''INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER''</u> came. Had articles
on <u>FEUDAL</u> and <u>HYPER-SPACE</u>; also a good article on who
plays war games.
Prepared a new board for <u>COUNTERPOINT</u> with yesterday's ideas.
Called Stan Harris. He was going to call me. Al Rubbens
of "House of Games" approached them about putting out their games
in the U.S. and he wanted my opinion. Told him <u>ULCERS</u>
and <u>CUBE FUZION</u> were excellent. <u>ASTRO BLITZ</u> is O.K. and
<u>RAT RACE</u> not so good.
<u>TAKE FIVE</u> and <u>TAM-BIT</u> will definitely be out in January,
after their X-Mas rush; their model items are doing
better than expected. They are still definitely interested in
<u>AIRLINES</u>.
Warren Buell here for short visit. General conversation.
