11/2 WEDNESDAY 5 NOVEMBER 1969 309th day - 56 days to come

The teaser that Diane Jaust put on a post card and also her story on me was delivered to the office - quite a few of each.

To Felicia's and had my lunch there. She had a letter Dan Fer- rone of Impact Communications. Flattered me and listed the games we discussed last week (see 10/30). Took it to reproduce & return. She told me about a game shown to her by the Sorenson Group, acting as the agent. It is called ARTIFACT. It is an art MONOPOLY game. Win by getting 8 pictures, 2 each of 4 colors. Pictures fluctuate in value. Felicia said something about the board changing as the game progressed; something about a rotating disc. The board is very large; actually Felicia thinks the whole thing couldn't be done for less than $30. (Very rough idea.) The inventor didn't want the rules to leave Sorenson. If Sorenson gets permission he will send her the rules. We called Impact in connection with the letter. Spoke to Dan. There is something brewing about a mailing of 5 monthly adult games. Will contact me soon about it. Felicia thinks that Jake Williams has taken a job as development mana- ger for "aco." I doubt if it is "aco." Oggi's EGO was done by Henry Schwarze (spelling ?), Felicia said, and is not doing well. Diane Hoisel has dropped the idea of putting together a grouping of small game companies. She finds that small owners are too individu- alistic. Everything bounced at Ed-U-Cards except PEANUT PUTTER (the simple MAH-JONG variation) which they are still consideration. She had a letter from Allan Knight of California. He has an Indus- trial-Military multi-player board game of skill. Felicia wrote asking him to send the rules, but not the model. The game is called EMPIRE. We discussed Parker Bros. and I said I doubt if I'll ever get one with them. She agreed that they seem to have their favorites, such as Jerry D'Arcey, and I don't seem to be a favorite. Discussed Hank Simmons, within the limitations of my confidential in- formation. She will contact Constant Herrick to see if she has any info on his whereabouts. She invited BB and me for supper next Friday.

Jerry of Impact Communications called me later. The 5 adult games are for Esso. He also has a contact with Shell Oil for an adult game. Made a date for the three of them to come about 8 next Thursday to see my stuff.

Met Sid Saul in the morning. A friend of his son was impressed by the game (PATTERNS) and very impressed that Sid knew me.

With Claude & Anne to Thunderbird to celebrate my 3M check (my treat. To Toy City. Didn't buy anything. Discussed Fay and Claude said he'd try to block a contract. (cont. on 11/2)
