SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity Columbus Discovered America 1492 1969 285th day - 80 days to come
Dana took pictures of BB, Dale, and me playing THE DOMINO BEAD GAME and then of BB and me playing PATTERNS, FOCUS, and ACQUIRE. For Diane Jaust and Dana is supposed to be payed for his work by Random House.
Called Martin Gardner and told him the English translation of Lech's PODROZE W KRAINIE GIER - JOURNEY INTO THE LAND OF GAMES. [crossed out] I mentioned that I was doing a column for STRATEGY & TACTICS Magazine. Mar- tin said that he was thinking of subscribing. I said I'd send him copies of the issues with my two columns af- ter the second issue comes out. Martin suggested that after A GAMUT OF GAMES comes out I might send copies of reviews of the books plus copies of my columns to magazines, such as ESQUIRE, PLAYBOY, ARGOSY, & TRUE asking if they would be inter- ested in my doing a monthly column on games for them. Also offering to send a copy of the book if they requested one. He originally had an article on "Hexi- flexigons" accepted by SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN and then told them that he had a lot of materials of a similar nature and suggested a column.
Made up a biography of my game accomplishments and BB typed it to send to Fay Baker.

Called Jim Dunnigan, mainly because Dale wanted to speak to him. The issue he is now completing will be out in about 3 weeks. Discussed the mailing of the S & T brochure and [crossed out] the flyer on my book. I will pro- vide the filled-out labels and probably the envelopes. We'll discuss it again on the weekend.
Made copies of the biography BB typed yesterday. Sent two to Fay Baker.
Albert Field called. He said that someone from BRIDGEVERYONE gave him my name. He is a card collector, different faces of regular cards. He has some non-standard card GAMEs and he wonders if I have any cards that he can use. If not he'll sell me what I want for what it cost him. Made a date to visit him Saturday and see his collection. { ALBERT FIELD 2025 29th St. Astoria [phone number]
