7/6 MONDAY 7 JULY 1969 188th day - 177 days to come
Called Barbara Francis. Told her that LOA would have to be changed. We'll get together. [crossed out] She had proofs of the Table of Contents. Sent it by messenger and I looked at it in the evening. In pretty good shape.
Made repros of the rules for DEALER'S CHOICE to send to Lech.
Called Lee Horn and told her of Martin's column and to send him my 4 games. Said she would, tho she wasn't sure about whether she had the card games yet. She is interested in doing some joint publicity about my book and my games. Wants to look at a copy as soon as possible. I asked if she could send me copies of FEUDAL, BLUE LINE, MONAD, & VENTURE when she has some spares. Said she'd try. Told her about the German book that mentioned ACQUIRE. She asked for the full name and publisher and I get them to her.
To Felicia after work. She said that S&R was interested in a mystery GAME. She had a letter from: { Game of the Month Club P.O. Box 191 Berkeley Heights, N.J. 07922 They were interested in her games (sic) if she gave them a good price and allowed them to be sold thru them at 30% below list price. Showed me PEANUT PUTTER, which was a simplified MAH JONG played with special cards. Looked at STACK STICKS (which finally came back from X).
[diagram of two vertical and two horizontal rows of squares with numbers; label at bottom reads "4 square apart"]
There are a fairly large number of long sticks in (I think) three different arrangements of colors but in each arrangement the five colors are repeated twice in order. Two sticks start the game by being placed 4 squares apart. The a dice is thrown to get a color (one face gives a choice). The player then places two sticks with the colors matching where they cross. Continue until the structure collapses. [Rough idea and I probably have some errors.] X loved this but couldn't price it.
Took home some info to copy on BLOCKBUSTER. This is by Sid Blazer and Angelo Longo is interested in looking at it after his vacation, now that Sid has made some suggested changes. (cont. on 7/6)
