TUESDAY 10 JUNE 1969
161st day - 204 days to come

In library at Montpelier looked at a book of selections
from a magazine called THE GENTLEMAN"S MAGAZINE LIBRARY.
In Vol. 1, pages 245-280 games were discussed, mostly active
games. One board game was TOP-CASTLE, played on a
board as shown

[Diagram of nine dots arranged into a 3 x 3 square connected by line segments.]

Each player has three markers which are placed on the board alternately.
Then in turn players move one
space along a line. Object is to get three
in a row passing the central space.
(The book was published by Houghton, Mifflin - Boston - 1883.)

Played 2 games of JOTTO with BB. Both were lost by default
when first I, and then BB, made a mistake in listing hits.
