THURSDAY 8 MAY 1969 128th day - 237 days to come
Had an idea for a GAME. A quadrille board is divided into
irregular shaped areas of different colors, say 5. There
is a chart which gives two colors which either one of which can
be played after the play of a color. Objective could be
to get the majority in an area, or possibly to place the
last piece in an area. once an area of a particular color is
started, another area of that color cannot be started until that
one is completed. Getting back to the objective, once an area
is won by a player he alone leaves he marker in that area. When
all areas are filled, the rows and columns are looked at one
at a time and won by the player with the most squares in
that row or column. In case of a tie they are eliminated
and next highest wins.
Another possible objective, having the most pieces surround-
ing an area.
Felicia called. Ed Weber wrote saying that he is sending back her books. She also wanted to know who to contact at A.H. I told her Tom Shaw. She said she had some non-game things she would like to show him. Mel Taft had called her [crossed out] when she was out. She called him and he was away. Spoke to Jim Hoolihan and he is sending Bill Burke to look at some things. They don't want to look at word games.
Another call from Felicia. A company is interested in buying
a game company and considered campaign a possibility. She
wanted Paul Milazzo's number. Couldn't help her there. She
think felt that CAMPAIGN was the best game. I told her it
was WATCH.
Claude came in just then with copies of his three puzzles. Gave me copies. I brought them to Dave and he kept one. Played a little DIGIT with Dave.
Chris Wagner sent me a one-of-a-kind press card for STRATEGY & TACTICS, with an amusing letter.
