WEDNESDAY 7 MAY 1969 127th day - 238 days to come

Made reproductions of the rest of the copyright material to send to Barbara Francis.

At lunchtime to Felicia's. Mr. Cass there. Showed us two games C.P.A. and TOUCHÉ. Both are word games and are well worked out. I told Felicia to handle them. He took us to lunch. Then I returned. Took copies of the two games and reproduced the rules at the office. Sid Cass also said he had another non-word GAME but won't show it to us until it is completely worked out. Made a date with Felicia to come there next Monday and discuss all the games she has at the office. Felicia showed me DYNAMITE. There are 16 holes in a 4 x 4 pattern. One player sets a cap in one of them, secretly. The other player puts rods in the holes one at a time and score for the number places before the cap goes off. If place 15, score double.

Bert Harrison - He has a business of selling games and other educational material only to schools. He has a catalog which Tom will send me. He thinks we should meet. Possibly I'll come up with some games, he says, that Bert can use. Tho he only pays a flat fee. Last October THE ARITHMETIC TEACHER had an article about games that were used in the classroom. He'll send me a reproduction. He also knows that they will do another one this October. He thinks I ought to get the teacher who uses BAZAAR in his school (Frank Thibault) to write to them and have it included. Tom will call his office tomorrow & get the info and then call me with it.

Arthur called during evening. Pelham Burn visited him last night. He'll give me the details Thursday.

Tom Atwater also mentioned a [term redacted] help and self-help group in Kansas Ci St. Louis (I think) which, among other things, is trying to develope games. They have one GAME, based on ethnic minorities, which Tom [crossed out] thinks as the most potential; but it needs completing. He asked if I would be willing to look at it and do some doctoring. Sure. (cont. on 5/6)
