Trying to work up a sample game for <u>NETWORK</u>. Spent several hours and  <br>
was getting frantic. Then BB played one with me and finally got  <br>
one on record. Then we played a game of <u>TAKE IT AWAY</u>. Worked O.K.
<s>With m</s> At dad's played three games of 500 RUMMY, with Ilka and Al.  <br>
Then dad, Al, and I played around with <u>SOLITAIRE DICE</u>, With a  <br>
scoring change dad suggested it worked great.
Called Fabio and asked if I should mention Pantheon Books in the  <br>
letter to the editor in ''Toys & Novelties''. Yes. Also discussed  <br>
the typing and he doesn't figure that more than a few pages  <br>
will have to be retyped. BB also talked to him.
Called Felicia to tell her of my talk with Mike Spielman. (She said  <br>
he was the regional editor - he's the editor in chief.)  <br>
Also told her about <u>ALPHABOK</u>.  <br>
Alice has already sent <u>FITTING & PROPER</u> to AMT.

Bryce mentioned that Martin Gardner had said I was working  <br>
on an induction game and he, Bryce, was interested in  <br>
it. Told him it was forpaper and pencil. Also as we talked further  <br>
I gathered that it was a deduction game he was  <br>
interested in. Told him I could have one ready for him.  <br>
Bryce said they were coming out with 3 games for the  <br>
Toy Fair. One is the Canadian game <u>RAT RACE</u> (see 5/23) and  <br>
the other two they are working on. Told him about the  <br>
reviews in the book and he said he'd get me copies by the  <br>
beginning of February. I also told him that he should  <br>
look at <u>AIRLINE</u> before deciding on a skill money game. He  <br>
said that he will be in town in January and will come here  <br>
for a visit.  <br>
They will be adding new games after the Toy Fair.  <br>
They looked at Connor's <u>TOTTER</u> and Bryce is thinking of  <br>
using magnets to keep the pieces in place. The girls are  <br>
very anxious to sell something of Conner's.  <br>
Brought <u>TOTALLY --</u> with me but forgot to show it.  <br>
After Bryce left talked some more. They are signing a <u>BALI</u>  <br>
contract with S & R, which can be terminated after 3 years  <br>
by either party.  <br>
Told them about my idea of an ad in the trade magazines.  <br>
They said that, as my agents, they [crossout] should, and could,  <br>
get articles on me placed in the magazines. We decided, however,  <br>
to follow up <s>my</s> on my lead with <u>TOYS AND NOVELTIES</u> and  <br>
not to tackle <u>PLAYTHINGS</u> now.
