FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER 1968 334th day - 32 days to come

Played NETWORK with Ricki. He beat me and he liked it.

Letter from Bob Claude. He has sent copies of MONAD and VENTURE. to me.

Last Sunday while helping Dale with her math had some
ideas for SETUP (see 2/9 & 2/12). Use cards with Ven
diagrams as in the samples. Players in turn draw one and
ask for the number a player
has of the particular area
shown in the diagram sub-
stituting the letter, color,
or number he wishes. The card can also have the symbolic
representation for the Ven diagram written on it. For
other games, such as taking away tiles from another
player, triple sets can be used as shown. Two sets
of cards can be included.

[Five small depictions of Venn diagrams with different areas left shaded and unshaded. The diagrams are labeled with different combinations of 'letter', 'number', and 'color'.]

Joe D'Ambra's brother, Tony in with some games he invented.
His wife works for some people who distribute slot car racing
equipment. They are willing to invest $10,000 into putting out
his games and he wanted my opinion of them.
DICE-O-LETTE. A ROULETTE type layout based on the
throws of a dice (also a version with 5 dice). Bet on a
number from 7 to 42 with some some side bets such
as odd or even or high or low. The odds he gives for a
number are all 5 to 1, which off course is ridiculous
Told him there was nothing there that ROULETTE didn't do better.
POKA - DICE Layouts for the combinations of 7 dice
(also a version with 5 dice) including new hands such as
3 pair, full house and a pair, etc. Bet on these hands.
A little more interesting than the previous gawe but the
odds are still all wet.
GAME with no name, similar POKERtype arrangements of [crossed out] 7 (or 5) dice. In this game, however, all
players chip to a pot. Then each in turn makes a side
bet and throws the dice. Collect from each other player
according to the odds for that particular combination.
Keep track of the combination and player with highest
type hand wins the pot. He also had an opptional optional side
bet for highest total on the dice. I suggested splitting
the pot between high total and high hand.
He asked what he could do to repay me for my help.Told
him to give me copies of the games when they come out. Also
told him of March 15th deadline to get into my book.
