SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER 1968
314th day - 52 days to come
Working on CROSSINGS. for the book.
Spoke to Claude and told him about EXECUTIVE DECISION.
Spoke of our books. His will be more than half on
puzzles. He'll use my puzzle on truth tellers, etc.
To Laurence's. Played quite a few games of THREE MUSKETEERS
with Phil.
Played 4-hand PROPERTY, formerly MONOPOLY SQUARES.
Played well.
Their son had a copy of STRATOMATIC FOOTBALL. I looked
at the rules but was too tired to concentrate.
BB mailed out CULBERTSON'S HOYLE and FUN WITH GAMES OF RUMMY - to Lech.
(cont. from 11/20) [11/20]
and the 48 remaining cards are placed in a 6x8 pattern
to form a board. Players place pieces on (say) the
first 8 numbers of a suit they chose previously.
A second deck is used also without kings and players
have a hand of (say) 4 cards. Play of a card allows
them to move along cards of the color chose
of the card, on a long cards of the panity of the card, or to along high on low cards depending on whether the card is high or low, (This probably gives too much freedom, probably one cand from which one of the three factors can be chosen would be better.) A possible objective would be reaching as many of apponent's pieces as possible on a move and... scoring for the wuchber reacheld as I for 1, 3 for 2 , 6 for 3,
Another possibility would be having an high-low marker When placed on high a player can move thru au ascending series of cards. When on low a descending series. It takes one move to switch the marken. A possible objective might be to switch suits, that is from a starting suit to another pre-chosen suit
From 2 to of can play,
etc.
(This needs some testing but is definitely a viable Played NETWORK II, one game with Dana, then a few with
game.)
BB. Good.
