Felicia called. Letter from Bob Claude. They are still working
on THESE UNITED STATES & FLINGERS.
Red a form letter from Phil Orbanes with the news
that Gamescience is now part of Renwal. It is now called
"Operations Design Corporation".
Called Martin Gardner He was in the mood for a long talk.
Thanked him for the information he had sent me. Told him
I'd like to get a copy of BAZAAR to him for his boys.
He'll contact me in a few weeks about getting together.
I asked him if he ever made personal appearance
(for the teacher who asked me last spring). He said "no".
It is too time consuming and he hates appearing in public.
He asked me if I knew the type of dice at present
used in China. I didn't but said I'd try to go to
Chinatown and see if I could pick up a pair. He said not
to go out of the way. He may get the answer from a
college Professor he who to.

He has learned that there are two types in Japan,
similar in arrangement wit with opposite sides adding
to 7, but to opposite hand (as shown).
One is used only in MAH-JONG the others
e for all other games.

This book mentions a set of 3-20 sided dice used for
generating random humbers. It is manufactured by the
Japanese Standards Assoc. (John Geiger mentioned that
they can be obtained in New York.) Each dice die has
the digit 0 to 9 twice and they are colored difterently
so that the 3 can be read in a definite order.
