FRIDAY 2 AUGUST 1968 215th day - 151 days to come

At Klein's saw IRONSIDE (Ideal). It claims to be a deduction game but actually it is a board game of moving around a board to pick up a suspect card and 4 cards that prove his guilt. [crossed out sentence] Each suspect has two cards that only apply to him (there are 4 sus- pects) and the other two cards come from a group that apply to the sex of the suspect. Basicly a Rummy game.

Spoke to Alice. Since she wasn't in the office she doesn't know if Hank Simmons' letter came. I told her of Frank Thibault's plug for BALI. She would like a reproduction.

Called Jerry D'Arcey. He is also going to Parker and we will get together there on Aug. 6. Spoke to Frank Thibault. He got a $500 advance on REGATTA and got a little more than $500 for the 2nd quarter. He likes BAZAAR and so do his children, even the very young ones.

The 2nd quarter check for ACQUIRE & BAZAAR came.

Worked on a second set of pcs. for FITTING & PROPER.

BB typed the WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? rules and finished ANOTHER. Put in the outline of the diagrams but left out the num- bers until after I make the reproductions.

At night realized that the scoring I was intending to use for POOLWORD was the same as the BALI scoring. Trying to think of an alternate. Earlier in day was working on the letter dis- tribution. [bracket drawn and arrow noted on Thursday, August 1 page].

Friday

Thought of a new scoring for POOLWORD, using a length bonus. The proportions are very similar to BALI.

Made reproductions of ANOTHER and WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? rules.

Alice called. A note came from Laughridge, I should call Hank Simmons when I get into Salem next Tuesday.

Deposited the 3M check and sent a check to Alice.

Finished a second set of pieces for FITTING & PROPER.
