FRIDAY 12 JULY Orangemen's Day 1968 194th day - 172 days to come
Looked for Aug. issue of PSYCHOLOGY TODAY. Found the July.
At Brentano's (8th St.) saw SCORE FOUR (Funtastic division of K.M.S.). There is a board with 16 holes in a 4 x 4 grid, 16 rods to place in the holes, and 64 large wooden beads to fit on the rods (32 each of 2 colors). 2 play. In turn beads are placed on any post (except that 4 is the maximum on a post). First to get a row of 4, any direc- tion including diagonal and oblique, wins. Scoring version. Score for each row of four as com- pleted. A bead scores depending on his layer. The lowest scores 4 to the top which scores 1. A line of 4 on the bottom scores 16, one on the top scores 4. An oblique line from bottom to top scores 10. (This scoring weights the scoring in favor of the beginning of the game - a poor policy.)
Thought of the idea of having 2 or 1 additional scores at the end of VENTURE CAPITAL. Played with BB and Dana. Good.
At University Place Bookstore saw a 3-volume MAISON ACADEMIQUE containing a good description of TRICQUE-TRAC with illustrations. Wanted $17 for the set however and the other two volumes had nothing of interest to me.
