THURSDAY 27 JUNE 1968 179th day - 187 days to come

Rcd. a thank you letter from John Geiger for his visit.

At F.A.O. Schwartz in Westchester saw:- ROLAIRE :- An action game of rolling balls into slots and betting on their destination. (Didn't get any of the details.)

SMARTY :- A children's bingo type game based on the answer to simple operations.

BATAILLE STRATEGIQUE :- (A French import). There is a vertical board with a grid map on each side showing land and sea spaces and two objective spaces, one close to each end and accessible from both land and sea. Each player has land and sea pieces which stick on the board by magnets. (Possibly there are also airplanes.) Players in turn move a piece up to 4 spaces in a straight line; including diagonally. (Don't know how the pcs. start.) When a piece being moved moves into a space in which the opponent opposite has a piece, this piece is knocked off by opposite polarity. The pc. moving must stop when it captures (I think this is true). Object to occuppy the oponent's objective space. (Fairly rough idea.)

INSTANT FUN :- sets of question and answer cards which are used as a party amusement.

Made a set of pieces for FITTING AND PROPER using transparent plastic. They looked good.

Looked at my existing rules for VENTURE CAPITAL and started thinking of possible changes.
