SATURDAY 22 JUNE 1968 174th day - 192 days to come
Added material to the "move" cards of THESE UNITED STATES and then put on transparent contact.
Saw Claude in the evening (with Ann & BB). He gave me the
copy of GENERALS he picked up for me ($3).
Claude gave me a copy of THE TREASURY OF CHESS LORE which
had finished with.
Claude had bought me a copy of TO TELL THE TRUTH which
is based on a TV game where three people are in the
studio pretending all stating they are a particular
person (not so well known that their face would be familiar)
A panel asks them questions trying to tell which one
is authentic.
This was translated to a home game by using famous
people. For each one there is a set of three cards. Two
of these give just the name. The third card designates
the authentic player and gives the answers to a list of
questions which the panel has.
Claude's kids enjoyed it so I told him to keep it. (It
cost 50¢).
Showed Claude and Anne THESE UNITED STATES. They
were impressed.
Showed Claude MEM and played part of a game. Two ques-
tions:- If a player has a matching group before he
takes off a piece, can he take it? Probably yes. Then
he takes off a piece, which he would do after making a
match. He actually loses the original take off.
If a player "protected" pieces on the board and then
can't match them, can they be taken off? Probably
not and they just remain there at the end of the game.
