Thinking of a pencil & paper induction game which I call PATTERNS II.
One player draws any pattern he wishes on a 6 x 6 quadrille,
using up to 4 different symbols. The other players make a blank 6 x 6
quadrille. Below they list one or more spaces and pass
it to the pattern maker who lists the marks in the spaces.

[Diagram of a 6 x 6 grid board with the boxes populated with different shapes. The shapes are dots, circles, plus signs, and triangles. The Columns are labeled A-F and the rows are labeled 1-6.]

Players continue until they think they know the pattern.
They receive one point for each correct space guessed and
lose one point for a wrong guess.
The pattern maker scores in this way : - From the
highest score of the other players subtract the lowest
score. This times two is the pattern maker's score. Possibly with
5 or more players it would be preferable to add the top two scores and
subtract the bottom two scores.

Rcd. a letter from Noel Span's brother. He is continuing Noel's
business and came across the CARRE rules in the files. Wants me to
call him about it.

Rcd. another letter from Haar Hoolim. He has a game he calls a
charmer, called MUSKETEERS. It seems quite good.

At Dawber and Pines saw some 6 copies of John Scarne's book
SKARNEY, most with personal signed comments.
