FRIDAY 12 JANUARY 1968 12th day - 354 days to come

At B and N saw INCOME TAX and CREDIBILITY GAP in addition to the 3M games. Later told Alice so that she can try to get BALI there. Looked at "Income Tax". Looks much more like work than fun. There are problem sheets to fill out and players are scored on who well they do.
Looked at Martin Gardner's 2nd book from Scientic American [Scientific American], at the addenda to ELEUSIS. He mentions the possibility of an induction GAME played with an array of 10 x 10. Tiles are placed in this array in some kind of a definite pattern and then turned over so that only blank sides show. The other players in turn turn over a tile and try to induce the pattern. My thought is the idea of having the players make a prediction of the color by so on some kind of device before the tile is turned and give them scores for being correct.
Martin also mentioned BATTLESHIPS as being an induction game and a party game about going on a trip. One part player chooses a rule to determine what is permissable to pack and others in turn suggest items and are told whether they are permissable or not. Try to guess the rule. Rules can be simple or different.

Went to Alice's Apt. to sign the TRIPLE CROSS contract. Mailed the copy back to X and took our copy home. Also took back INFINITE PLANE and PAYOFF until after toy fair when Alice will begin showing again.

Rcd. a letter from Bob Claude @ 3M. He is sending me their 4 educational games and would like my comments.

Claude called me from his nephew's. They were playing BAZAAR. They liked it but were not crazy about it.
