Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim. Had a carbon of a letter to
Martin Kruskal. Also rules for a new game,
THE GAME OF APPROACH.

Looked at Korvette's in Pelham. Nothing in games.

(cont. from 1/11) [1/11] A diagonalmline reaching the side presented a problem as to
which box it scored in. Decided to score only for horizontal lines
hitting the side.
Thought of doubling the "side" score of the player first
reaching the end. Then decided to score for reaching the end
by a vertical line. End the game when the 3 "end" scores
have been taken. High score wins the difference between scores.
Needs testing.
Thought of including this game in the book with a description
of its development.

Sent a letter to Harry Cunningham at 3M telling him about
the subscription to Playthings. Told him I was sending the
catalogs and said that I had spent 3 hours.
