27 Thursday - October 1977
300th day - 65 days to come
Call from Rolland Borghini. Told him that I had call from
Pierre Berloquin, so he didn't have to explain who he was.
He will be here tomorrow night at 5:00 - for supper. In
case I have to contact him he is at the Statler Hilton Hotel.
Tomorrow morning he will be will Mr. Shapiro of Gabriel.
[illegible sentence crossed out]
Called Phil Orbanes. Told him about going to Parker next week
(for P.E.G.S.). He told me that the ad for THE WINNING TICKET
ran this week and then the next two weeks, then the week of
11/21, and finally the week of 12/5 - on Ch9 [channel 9] between 6:30 and 7:30 P.M.
The next work time is not known yet, but he will let me know
when he finds out. I asked, and he said that they have been getting
reorders on THE WINNING TICKET, with a big one from K-Mart
(I am pretty sure). I asked about the SPECTACULARS and he
said that models were being prepared. He asked about GAMES
magazine and I apologized for being late in mailing the bill.
Told Phil that I had figured out how to make a model of
THE WIN: THE RIGHT WORD with flip letters. Told him that I
hadn't made progress on a 2-hand DIPLOMACY but that I hoped
to get going. He said that by March would still be in time;
also that a good one would be a sure thing. I asked Phil if he
saw Kay Bartlett yesterday. He was out all day and didn't knmow
anything about her. I told him about her talk with me and he'll
check with Jule Cooper on whether she game.
Phil said to call him when I get back from Salem next week.

Rcd. telephone call from Jacqueline Foy, who got my name from
Marjorie Weiss of GAMES Mag. She and a partner have published a
fancy version of NYOUT and was interested in advertising. She
also was interested in info on SENET and Marjorie told her that I
might have the info. Told her I had Parker's edition, also about the
THE ROYAL GAME OF WAR. She said that she heard somewhere that the
true rules had been translated; I said that I doubted it. In
connection with NYOUT they came up with new dice, which she said
changed the odds and she is interested in using them for other games.
She was calling from Miami and also I had to leave. She is coming to
visit N.Y. and I told her to call me on Sunday.
Had 7 copies made of the "illustration sheet" for P.E.G.S. on Boston Rd. BB deposited Athol-Research check in Chemical.
Call from Claude. Nothing particularly on games. (Also spoke to Jacqueline and BB volunteered to do some typing for her.)
