June 1977 - Friday 24
St. John Baptist - 175th Day - 190 Days to Come
Met Claude and Anne in Flushing. To a flea market for the
Red Cross. Bought PEEK-A-BOO GAME for 25¢. 2 plastic
"café curtains" - red, white, and 2 shades of blue - to use as
plastic strips.
Claude loaned me his copy of SIMULATION GAME IN LEARNING, by
Boocock & Schild. Told him that I wouldn't get a chance to
read it for a long time. Neither will he, he said.
Claude wanted to clear out a closet at his mother's apt. [apartment] and
after going over what he wanted to get rid of I took the following
duplicates: SHIFTY GEAR GAME, SCOFFLAW (I previously discarded
the box for this, so I will keep this box and offer the material,
there are parts missing, to Ronnie Corn if he doesn't already
have it). Also took WORD FOR WORD, a TV game with some parts
missing; discarded the box and placed rest in TURNING POINT box.
Claude rcd. [received] official notification of his patent being accepted. Now he
has another $200 for the final filing - which seems to be something
that Miller didn't include in his statement.
When got back found the model of WIN IT YOUR WAY next to the door. From U.P.S. - and insured for $150.
(cont. from 6/26) [6/25]
Ronnie had both and we compared them. The latter has a flat board
divided into squares, but topographically the same.
NUMBER PLEASE. Ronnie said it was a good TV game, and I wasn't sure
whether I have it or not. (At home couldn't find it.)
GOOD GUYS & BAD GUYS (Cadaco '73). Ronnie said it wasn't bad. I'll have
to look at it some time.
SLIP DISC. Ronnie will get me repros [reproductions] of the rules.
SWINDLE. Didn't look at this, figuring on listing it for Graeme Levin
to bring me. (Forgot, so I'll have to look at it.)
METRADOMS. I asked Ronnie how he would feel about my borrowing
some of his games to take down the info on them. He trusts me.
Borrowed this one to return next time we get together.
KINGDOMS. Ronnie said that he might send for a copy of [illegible crossed out] this. Told
him that I might get a duplicate which I could give to him.
Ronnie and Jordan played two games of WIN IT YOUR WAY - short versions.
Then I played two with Ronnie. He won all four - always with 7 "crosses".
I'm afraid that I'll have to work on the balance.
Made date for them to visit us on 7/16.
