NOVEMBER 1975 - SATURDAY 1
ALL SAINT'S DAY - 305TH DAY - 60 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. another set of BACKGAMMON rules from Bob Gellman - this
time from the Itemation Game Rug.
From Felicia (who already signed them) rcd. 3 copies of a "letter"
changing the 3M contract to give me 85% and I/S 15%.
Rcd. a record - "Trick & Treat" and a short note from Jerry Dougherty
saying it was a premium they once did that he thought BB and I might
enjoy.
For GAME CUBE did the following: finished BACKGAMMON,
DUTCH BACKGAMMON, ACEY DEUCEY, CHASE, (which is my improvement -
at least I think so of CHASING THE GIRLS), TOURNE-CASE, SIXE-ACE,
PACHISI, TIC-TAC-TOE, NINE HOLES, STEEPLECHASE.
Played my word GAME (which I later called [illegible crossed out] NIM-WORD)
with Phil Laurence. He liked it, altho he doesn't usually care for
word games.
Phil suggested that if a player makes a word that isn't in the
dictionary being used, the other player gets those letters - plus
any he made before - as his score for that "section." In connection
with this, I decided that there is no penalty for a challenge that
proves unfounded - the burden of proof is on the player making the word.
I don't allow as "S" to be used for plurals or an "ED" suffix. I'll
also suggest that players can agree on their own prohibitions.
