AUGUST 1974 - THURSDAY 15
ASSUMPTION OF B.V. MARY - 227TH DAY - 138 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. PLAYTHINGS for Aug. Showcase/Toys has ROUND THE BEND
by Invicta; PIT (a redesign); CHALLENGE YAHTZEE;
POLICE STATE with Idea Development Co. mentioned. Mention
that William Dohrmann is now vice president/marketing
with both marketing and research and development departments
reporting to him. Michael W. McCarthy, former product manager,
is now R & D director.
Deposited the REALM - INFINITY $750 check in Dollar.
Call from Phil Orbanes with a question on INFINITY. His girl
had left out a word in typing from my original.
Called Steve Brodie and got the following list prices for
the Intellect Games: STOCKBROKER - $12.50; CABBIE - $9.95;
FRENCH CHATTER and SPANISH CHATTER - $7.95 each,
ELECTION - $12.50; HARE & TORTOISE - $9.50. Also I'm to give
Chartwell American as the address.
Gave Claude a check for $20.78 - for EXECUTIVE DECISION.
Also gave him S & T #41, #42, #43, #44, & #45.
Claude and Wald had a meeting with John Lawless of Hasbro
today. Lawless liked Wald'sGAME, with the possible fear
that it was a little hard to understand. He felt that
RIP-OFF was "trivial", that players wouldn't want to play
again. However, he is showing both to higher management
for their final decision.
I asked Claude if he had added "registration spaces" to
his board. No. I said that it was frustrating to all the
players except possibly the one who was clearly ahead
to be stuck with so many pairs that couldn't be registered.
