To Mike Alber and left a copy of AGOG and S&T #40 for Maxine Brady. Later noticed that Mike was looking at the book. I asked and he said he didn't have a copy. Told him I'd bring him a copy when I next go there.

He was expecting a shipment with PRO DRAFT and THE INVENTORS later today, but I said that I'd arrange to pick them up sometime next week.

Looked at Brentano's. S.P.I. has the biggest display. 3M's is smaller and I didn't see ACQUIRE. They had ANTI-MONOPOLY with an open box. They had ENERGY CRISIS GAME (shrink wrapped) marked down to abt. $5. The only Gamette of mine that I saw was MONAD. they had PATTON and HOLIDAY. Also THE BALLET COMPANY GAME.

Looked at A&F. Practically nothing in the way of games.

To S.P.I. Howie Barasch had some mail for me:

- Letter from "J.A. Ewing & McDonald, Inc. They send games overseas and asked me about games for economic training, etc. Called and left my number so they can call me at home.

- Letter from Steve Wilson who subscribed to S&T because of my column. Would like my reviews before #37, particularly SLEUTH and ORION. He loves AGOG and regularly plays PROPERTY, SOLITAIRE DICE and DOMINO BEAD GAME. He also mentions G&P.

- Manuscript TRIAD - A UNIQUE SERIES OF CARD GAMES DESIGNED BY JOHN JACKSON which is the same as William T. Silent who did Stackpole's forthcoming A WINNERS GUIDE TO BOARD GAMES and who wrote to me (see 3/16). Also a note from Dallas Mayr of "Scott Meredith Literacy Agency." The games covered are: WHIRLPOOL, DOUBLE WHIRLPOOL, WHIRLWIND, NETWORK, NETWORK SOLITAIRE, TRIMINOES (TRIAD DOMINOES), CHAIN, INTERLOCK, MENAGE, TRI-RUM (TRIAD RUMMY), TRIANGLE, TRIPLETS, TRIAD, GRAND TRIAD, TRIUMPH (TRIAD BRIDGE). Also included are a rough set of 60 cards.

Took a copy of SEELOWE.

Took three copies of MOVES #14. Games in progress lists TANK, FRIGATE, OPERATION OLYMPIC, STAR FORCE: ALPHA CENTAURI (new name for ALPHA CENTAURI CAMPAIGN). Article on KAMPFPANZER and DESERT WAR with variations. Advertisement by "Game Designers' Workshop" for DRANG NACH OSTEN, UNENTSCHIEDEN!, TRIPLANETARY, EAGLES, and CHACO, upcoming are NARVIK-THE CAMPAIGN IN NORWAY and MERITA/MERKUR - THE BALKANS. Consolidated Errata on PANZERARMEE AFRIKA, DESERT WAR, KAPFPANZER, EAST IS RED, and LEIPZIG. A variation of BULL RUN by Al Nofi. Four "Boer War Scenarios" for RIFLE & SABER. Games in progress also included COMBINED ARNS and PATROL - which is a companion to SNIPER.

Took two duplicate copies of S&T #44.

Redmund gave me a proof of my column in #45. (Put with my reference copies on wall.)

Looked at telephone book for [bracket drawn] Marvin Kaye [bracket drawn] 525 West End Ave. [bracket drawn] (362-1397) To send to the BIGWIG people.
