23 SUNDAY - JUNE 1974 THIRD SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST - 174TH DAY - 191 DAYS TO COME
Wrote to Richard F. Loomis after looking at IMPERIALISM. Thanked him for sending it and said that I'd probably review it in S&T \#46.
Wrote to Haar Hoolim. Sent him a set of my suggested rules for STACK-UP. Mentioned JOINING, NUM-SKILL, MATTIX, TAKEALL, SPELLBOUND, ON GUARD, and STACK-UP - in connection with Roylon.
Did most of a new layout for KLEE, with a scoring track going all around the field, and with 6 spaces for combinations.
An idea for a variation (that I had before) is to prohibit a player from marking a scoring space with the same color as the last score.

capturing 15 enemy pebbles.
When 3 play the yellow (neutral) pebbles cannot be captured. Win by capturing 10 pebbles, at least 5 of each opponent.
When 4 play win by capturing 10 pebbles, at least 3 of each opponent.
Dick Harris looked at this and said that it was done in England. He probably means LADAXO.
Felicia said that Larry Reiner who used to work for Ideal and now has his own design group contacted her and asked if it was all right to send her inventors that approach him - since he does everything "in house." Yes, if they call on the phone first. He also suggested helping each other out with companies that one has contacts with and the other doesn't. She wasn't too interested in that. She has an appointment with the man from Miner Industries and he sounds pleasant. Dick Harris (I believe) told her that 4 Generations was interested in abstract games. She missed them at the Stationary Show and I told her about them.
Took MINI-BLITZ altho the rules were missing. I left them in the BLITZ Box so it could be sold at a bazaar. (I'll put my own in.) Also took Schaper's LETTER PILE and AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER (later discovered that a stand was broken).
To Phil Orbanes. Gave him the new INFINITY rules and we he went
over them, making some slight changes in the wording. I wanted
to play 2-hand but there were too many interruptions. Made repros.
Bill Vega, who is the head of "Rand Game Associates" dropped in. He mentioned that one of small game outfits had come out with a game THE THIRD REICH, which is bothering A.H. [Avalon Hill] Phil didn't go over his ideas for THE THIRD REICH with me - no time - and it is probably already too late to get the name.
