JUNE 1974 - SATURDAY 22 173RD DAY - 192 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. ESQUIRE for July. "Big Game Safari" shows pictures
among other puzzles of a PUZZLE by Stewart Coffin,
FRANTIX, SOMA (Piet Hein), IMPASSE (Philip Shoptaugh),
TRIPPPLES (William T. Powers), KALAHA, ATLANTIS, THE L-GAME,
(Dr. Edward de Bono), FITTING & PROPER (Sid Sackson), GO.
Also rules for OFF COURSE by Alex Randolph, DRAGON by
Walter Amberstone (he told me that he was payed $25 for this),
and I'M GOING ON A TRIP. (Filed in '74 Misc.)
Rcd. letter from Earl. Mentioned Al Richter, DON'T BLOW A FUSE, BACKGAMMON.
Rcd. letter from Haar Hoolim. Mentions JOINING, STACK-UP, ON GUARD.
Sent a copy of DELPHI to Edward Purcell, with a note.
Thought of allowing a little more freedom in the set-up in
KLEE by stipulating that a minimum of two spaces
must be filled each color must appear at least twice,
but no maximum if this is as long as this is followed.
Actually 6 would be a maximum. To avoid an ABA, BAB
set-up, a rule that no two groups can consist of
exactly the same colors has to be added. Played with BB and
it seemed o.k. At the set-up the first player set
filled in one group, then each filled in two in turn
until the first player finished by filling one group.
To a bazaar in Queens. Bought 10 packages of "Lucky Links," plastic [illegible strikeout] in 9 colors that link together very simply.
After bazaar to Rockaway with Claude. Discussed the Hasbro situation. Claude thinks that he and Wald should take half of the money (at least of the original $4,000) as "agents." He also thinks that each of us should work on games individually and probably submit a number on each subject to Hasbro to let them choose. The one whose game is chosen should get a bigger share - probably 25% off the top and then splitting the rest. Claude is working on RIP-OFF and Wald on the Cartel GAME. I doubt if it is worth my while to go into this.

Vega asked me if I ever saw a game called CORPUSCLE, based on blood - someone wrote to him asking. Told him it was probably CIRCULATION.
I asked Phil about THE GOOD EARTH. Nothing new to report, but it is still very much alive.
Changed our date on 8/12 to 2:30 and I'll bring my rough idea for THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. Phil will call me on 8/9 to confirm. // Returned Phil's G&P #26 and said I might have an extra $25.
