To Felicia. Mike Riley there with a manipulative puzzle, tentatively called THE CONE PUZZLE. There is a cone that is [drawing of cone puzzle] a good size for holding. There are different tops that can be snapped onto the open end - the most diffi- cult being shown. There is a rod which rests on the bottom and fits into the notches. A weighted top, which makes it easier, can be re- moved. Object is to start with the rod in "1" and then by tipping to move it into "2", "3", etc. up to 16. In the pure form, each number must be hit without ever resting in a number out of sequence. I suggested counting "strokes." Ideal had been interested in it for the Alabe line, using the "Behind the 8-Ball" mold, but the opening on the top is too small - so that they returned it. Felicia will handle it. Keith Tuggle liked Denis Ladouceur's series of puzzles - LIFE SAVER etc. and Felicia is giving him just three weeks for an answer:

Keith also liked BOXED IN very much, but felt it would be too expensive to make. He had Felicia send it to someone who will be manufacturing puzzles and other novelties in wood. He used to do the wood things for Skor-Mor.

At one time Felicia said that Kathy Brooks had her spending a fortune making long-distance calls and then Felicia gave Felicia a hard time about Felicia calling Kathy collect. Later she said that she had gotten tough with 3M and Kathy gave her de- tailed reports on everything.

I asked about SKYSCRAPERS and Felicia said she wasn't going to tell me, but Kathy says that she can't locate it. U.P.S. has a signature that it arrived. Kathy will contact her in a few days.

Steve Radash was there. He is spending as much time there as Felicia will let him. He told me that he is interested in learning the business, rather than becoming a game inventor. He surprised himself when he did RUN A ROUND, which he doesn't think is great. He'd like to join our game group - just call him anytime. [bracket drawn] Steve Radash [bracket drawn] 308 West 260th St. [bracket drawn] N.Y., N.Y. 10471 (546-3349) Steve Radash and I played through one round of HIGH RISE. At first it was very tedious, but after I made some intepre- tations, and some changes it was mildly interested. Felicia thinks I should get half the royalties for fixing the game and rewriting the rules. I said that was too much. We agreed that she would show the model to manufacturers and I wouldn't do any work until she gets some interest. In the meantime I will write to Odette Willis. (cont. on 6/11)
