JUNE 1974 - SUNDAY 2
PENTECOST - 153RD DAY - 212 DAYS TO COME
Mounted th THE BRAIN GAME "Information Card" on cardboard.
Call from Jerry D'Arcey. He had another heart attack - but much
smaller than the last one. He asked if the name
EASY COME-EASY GO had ever been used; he'd like it for his
COMMODITY game. Told him no and later checked to make sure.
Frank Thibault has had two game GAMEs rejected that
he had been almost sure of acceptance. One was based
on an airplane whose wings fall off. Schaper had him working
on it a long time, and then said "No."
Called Felicia and arranged to bring in THE BRAIN GAME
sometime tomorrow morning.
Finished putting the names from 1973 diary on index cards
and started copying them in book.

Allan Newman came in with 3 p&p games for 3M.
WORD GOLF. Each player takes a sheet where 18 "holes"
are listed with "par 3," "par 4," or "par 5." Then write
18 words, the length corresponding with the "par." The
first letter of each word must be different. Taking
one "hole" at a time; one player gives the other one
letter in his word. The other guesses. If wrong he gets
another letter and guesses again. When get all letters may
still have to guess more than once if they can be arranged
differently. Each guess is a "stroke." Felicia and I both
told him that WORD GOLF has been used as a name.
FOOTBALL and BASEBALL each have lists of plays which
are brought into action by each player "throwing" fingers
to determine a number. Palm up has a different meaning
than palm down. The sheet has spaces for keeping track
of the plays, and the score. (Rough idea.)
Alan bought a game - BRASS MONKEY - at Brentano's
for $6. He was so disgusted with it that he threw it
away. It was supposed to be a "spy" game but was only
a track game. Move by throwing dice and win and lose
"brass monkeys" along the way. Win by reaching the end with
at least 3 brass monkeys.
He also bought ANTI-MONOPOLY and didn't think much
of it - but didn't throw it away.
At Stationary Show he spoke to the people who put out
BIGWIG. They said they'd be interested in puttin looking
at new games. Felicia and I said that they'd never
make it with the one they had. They told Alan that
they have 100,000 copies of BIGWIG printed.
