1 SATURDAY - JUNE 1974
152ND DAY - 213 DAYS TO COME
Finished the rules for THE BRAIN GAME. BB typed them and the
material on the "Information Card." Got copies on Boston Rd.
At A&S in Hempstead saw FITTING & PROPER, etc. marked down
to $3.00.
With Al Richter and Brian played ARP, and DELAUNEY. Using
only three colors for DELAUNEY caused a lot of spaces to be
left blank. A possible solution; make the 4th color neutral
and a player can fill in a space with it as long as he follows
it with a space of his own color next to the neutral. The scoring
where a player loses a point for not being able to go worked
fine.
Brian & Al played SPRINGER. While watching them play I
thought of the idea of making the field consist of squares
[drawing of board of squares and squares divided into triangles] and squares divided into two triangles -
as shown. This would allow for a board
game where the pcs. are put in at ran-
dom. A perfect companion to TRIPPPLES.
Al showed me the frame for his model
of DON'T BLOW A FUSE. Looks good.
Letter from Haar Hoolim. He enclosed a repro of Martin Gardner's
answer to him. Mentions STACK-UP and UP. Sends rules for
a game JOINING.

Felicia asked me why I hadn't told her that the promo-
tional sheet for Oblisk mentions me in connection
with ZODIAC STAR CHESS. Told her that I hadn't noticed.
Felicia [illegible strikeout] had other visitors and Alan and I left. I asked
him about his PRIVATE EYE. There are four lists; one with
6 items (such as motives, etc.), one with 5 items, and two
with 4 items (on it could be 6-5-5-4). Each player checks
of [off] one item on each list. In turn players make an
"accusation" with one item from each list. If none match the
other player says "completely wrong." If one or more match
the answer is "I don't remember." Object to get the other
player's 4 items. (Fairly complete idea.)
Alan said that he might be making up some children's games
for a small magazine, and some of these might be put out
commercially later. He asked about Felicia's as agent fee. I
told him that I didn't give Felicia anything for my writing -
Actually I had had Alex Randolph as an agent with AGOG.
Also things that I sell completely on my own I give her 10%.
